Manufacturing Training Specialist


POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities of this role include leading On-the-Job (OJT) and classroom training of manufacturing employees, coordination of training schedules, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of training, and onboarding within the manufacturing team. Ensuring compliance to all Cantel safety, quality and operations processes. This position will also be involved in assisting with documentation revision.


POSITION DETAILS:

What you will do:

  • Coordinate training schedules for new hire employees and cross-training for current employees.
  • Maintain employee training records.
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, certifications etc.
  • Create Training Checklists, Knowledge Checks and Evaluations.
  • Audit trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Report on progress of trainees.
  • Make suggestions on improving work procedures.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal customers.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including written and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft office.
  • Organized and able to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements.
  • Understanding of Adult Learning Principles.
  • Able to analyze problems and recommend better solutions.
  • Understands how to encourage, coach and mentor employees.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to cover multiple shifts as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or in Training, HR, Education or related field.

  • 1-3 years Training Specialist experience with a Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years Training Specialist experience with an Associate’s degree

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position will require working in an office setting and on the manufacturing production floor.

Director, Talent Technology and Support - District Office

FUNCTION:

This position plans, implements and advises on Talent Technology solutions and support that build capacity to meet college objectives and priorities. Supports Vice President, Organizational and Talent Development on talent technology initiatives. Oversees talent technology initiatives including LMS solutions, decentralized training solutions, LMS customer support and special projects. This position encompasses great diversity of job activities and requires depth and breadth of talent technology skills and experience.

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Job Functions:

* Oversees the college's learning technology solutions to build workforce capability and support a dynamic & integrated talent management platform.
* Consults with customers across the college's decentralized training structure to discuss needs and recommend solutions to training development and delivery.
* Directs Technical Design projects, evaluates requests, develops project priorities. Manages and tracks progress of projects and ensures projects are brought to completion according to project timeframes.
* Identifies and implements key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of training programs and leadership development initiatives that support strategic goals.
* Manages and provides leadership and guidance to staff; develops priorities and assigns tasks and projects; ensures all issues are addressed and resolved.
* Provides leadership to ensure various modes of delivery including in-person, webinars (live and recorded), playlists, micro-learning, and off the shelf products are utilized to meet the learning needs of employees as well as ensures learning resources are curated and easy to find. Markets and communicates talent development offerings and learning resources available to the workforce.
* Conducts analyses and evaluation of skill and competency gaps for leaders and employees.
* Implements and oversee processes to forecast training needs.
* Ensures LMS customer support is timely and issues are resolved.

Position Details *

Required Education:

* Bachelor's degree in training and development, organizational development, human resources, or organizational behavior/psychology required.



Preferred Education:

* Master's degree in training and development, organizational development, human resources, or organizational behavior/psychology preferred.



Required Experience:

* Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in at least three of the following areas:
* * Leadership Development
* * Team Development
* * Instructional Design
* * Project Management
* * Instructional Technology
* * Competency Development


Preferred Experience:

* Ten (10) years' experience in all of the following areas:
* * Leadership Development,
* * Employee Development,
* * Instructional Design,
* * Instructional Technology,
* * Change Management
* * Competency Development.
* Experience in employee relations and experience in a higher education environment is highly desirable.


Licenses /Certifications Preferred:

* PHR and Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP).
