Speaker:  Ken Barber is the Manager of Learning & Development for Shell Oil Company. Ken is responsible for the training and development of 20,000 employees at Jiffy Lube International’s 2,000 locations. Under his leadership, the learning brand, Jiffy Lube University (JLU), was created in 2008. Today JLU has over 100 WBT, ILT and VILT courses which constitute the 10 Certifications for store level employees and managers. 

With a Learning Team of only 8, JLU recorded over 2.2 million hours of learning in 2015. JLU has been featured in many trade publications and has won over 28 national and international awards in 12 different competitions over the past six years. Awards include first in the Training Top 125 Award in 2014 and 2016, first in the ATD BEST Award in 2011, and fourth in the Learning Elite Award in 2013. In addition, JLU has received awards from the Automotive Training Managers Council, CorpU Xchange, E-Learning 100, Bersin A wards, Brandon Hall Awards, Bob Pike Award, and the International E-Learning Award. JLU is an Accredited Training Provider with ASE, Automotive Services Excellence. JLU is one of only 3 franchise training programs to be recommended by ACE, American Council on Education for college credits. The other two are Starbucks and McDonalds. Ken is a member of the ACE Commission on Education Attainment and Innovation working with academic and business leaders to help colleges and universities better prepare graduates for today’s workplace. Ken is a popular speaker at training industry conferences and conventions. His simple, participant centered, application oriented presentations, have consistently received high marks from participants.
