As I reflect on the first half of 2026, I am filled with gratitude and pride for all that we have accomplished together as a chapter. Our community continues to grow stronger because of the energy, commitment, and curiosity each of you brings to ATD Houston.
In the first half of the year, we hosted 26 events covering timely and meaningful topics such as artificial intelligence, change strategy, interview preparation, leadership development, change management, and the State of the Industry. We launched new podcast content, partnered with other ATD chapters to develop and lead a APTD and CPTD certification study group, and celebrated excellence across our profession through the Pinnacle Awards ceremony.
We also created valuable opportunities for existing and new members to connect through networking events, welcomed thought-provoking speakers at our general meetings, and delivered an amazing Tech Conference focused on learning technology and the future of talent development. These accomplishments are a reflection of what is possible when talented professionals come together with purpose.
Looking ahead, the remainder of 2026 promises even more opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. We are especially excited about our fall conference, Disrupted: Building a Talent Pipeline That Never Runs Dry. This unique event will feature Marc Effron leading a workshop during the first half of the day, offering members a valuable opportunity to gain practical insight into building strong, sustainable talent pipelines for the future.
ATD Houston thrives because of its members. Our board is made up of dedicated volunteers, and there is room for every member to contribute in a way that fits their interests, strengths, and availability. Whether you attend an event, invite a colleague, share an idea, join a committee, volunteer for a program, or simply introduce yourself to someone new, your participation matters.
I encourage you to get involved, engage with fellow members, and take full advantage of the learning and leadership opportunities available through our chapter. Your involvement not only supports your own professional growth, but also strengthens the broader talent development community across Houston.
Thank you for being part of ATD Houston. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and continuing this meaningful work together.
