Session Description:

Aging, Learning and Training

This meeting provides an overview of memory & cognition research, including how memory changes with age, the differences between younger and older workers and how training can be designed and delivered to maximize learning and retention.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn how to apply the research to training program development and course delivery. 
  • Additionally, participants will learn tactics to improve retention - what to include and what to avoid.

Speaker Biography:

Jessica Logan, Assistant Professor at Rice University

Jes Logan is part neuroscientist, part applied psychologist studying learning and memory. She directs a research team that focuses on improving retention and performance in adults across the lifespan. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students at Rice University and also applies her research and interests more broadly across the community.
