WELCOME WEBINAR

Welcome to ATD Houston! Come get to know us – the people and the chapter, and learn about the many specific ways you can benefit from being a member. Come with any questions you have about becoming a member or taking advantage of member benefits.

You will be given highlights of the many benefits– meetings, conferences, networking events, job postings and volunteer opportunities available to you. We’ll also give you a quick rundown of our website and how to access events as well as extensive learning resource depositories that are part of your membership.

This session is specific for students - answering questions on ATD National (https://checkout.td.org/Membership/Index/Student) and ATD Houston chapter membership. We will also answer your questions on the ATD certification program

LEARNER OBJECTIVES

In this session, participants will:

  • Introduce the resources available through ATD Houston
  • How to navigate the ATD Houston website
  • Talk about Percipio, Degreed and Accel benefits
  • Introduce the Events Calendar and how to register for those.
  • Networking opportunities

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Malak Chabkoun — Director of Memberships

If you’ve ever hung a picture and decided to go beyond eyeballing it, you might have used a tool called a level to make sure it was even. In my life as a learning and development professional, I like to think of myself as a human level: how do I design learning so that it’s right where it needs to be and lands in the best way possible for the audience?

In addition to experience as a trainer and in organizational development, I come from a research background and always try to bring the two skill sets together for the best learning and development outcomes. Other roles I hold include an adjunct professor in government at a local community college.

When I have some free time, I enjoy volunteering, reading, painting, hiking, plants, coffee, and spending time outdoors. I always look forward to the cooler weather for a better outdoor experience!
